There is a lot more to do in the Bronx and Westchester than you can imagine. While I love websites like Mommy Poppins, there aren’t many listings for local happenings in our area (Bronx and parts of Westchester). Some of the events listed here may be last minute pop-up events or ongoing.
Upcoming events
October 7-9 – Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration on Randalls Island, just off the South Bronx. To register click here.
NYRR Youth Events – These are FREE race events for children ages 2-18 around NYC. They are held throughout the year. There are three stages, with youth being able to compete in timed races at age 12.

Craft Related
Sewing classes are often offered at Blossom Holness (1374 Castle Hill Ave). Call for class fees.
Nature & Outdoors
Bronx Zoo – Free general entry on Wednesday (reservation required)
Check in with NYC Parks, Urban Park Rangers to find family camping dates throughout the year. This a free experience where you are selected via lottery.
Randall’s Island Urban Farm – Free access
Wave Hill – (Free on Thursdays, Family Art Project on Weekends)
