Our Ingredients
- Activated Charcoal – The goal of adding activated charcoal to soap is to use it as a binding agent. Utilizing its large surface area to absorb toxins by grabbing dirt, bacteria, oil and other toxins on the skin and removing them while washing. Skin often feels and looks cleaner and clearer after use. Activated charcoal tends to change the color of the foam from light grey to black depending on the amount used.
- Cocoa Powder – In addition to it’s luxurious brown color, cocoa powder may help encourage cell renewal thanks to theobromine which can increase blood flow to your skin’s surface. You also find flavonoids in cocoa powder, which can help repair UV ray damage.
- Coconut Oil – For centuries coconut oil has been used as a skin and hair care remedy. Rich in lauric acid, this oil has natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Fragrance Oil – Sometimes you want to evoke an emotion or recall a memory, smells helps us do that. We use fragrance oil primarily to provide scents to our soap.
- Kaolin Clay – This clay is gentle skin polisher can also absorb oil on the skins surface. We add kaolin clay in 99% of our soaps and love it.
- Mica – Color! The reason we use mica in our soap in to differentiate bars and bring them to light with our creativity.
- Palm Oil – Love it or hate it, we use and enjoy the feel and benefits of palm oil in our soap. For us, this oil helps create a nice, hard bar with a thick, creamy lather.
- Shea Butter – Not only does shea butter help form a hard bar of soap, it also feels moisturizing and conditioning.
- Sodium Hydroxide – Also known as lye, sodium hydroxide is actually a required ingredient for an bar of soap to be considered real soap (and not a synthetic detergent bar). It is used to saponify oils and butters in the soap making process and serves as a pH balancer in soap and other skin care products.
- Sodium Lactate – This additive is used to help harden the soap as it is saponifying, nothing more.
- Titanium Dioxide – This is used to lighten and/or whiten soap. We in small quantities that should pose no safety concern to end user.
- Water (Distilled) – W only use distilled water in our soap making process to avoid any additives or toxins that may be in regular tap or bottled spring water.
